Here are 5 practical tips for producing videos if you are introverted

Last year, LinkedIn launched the ability to upload original videos to 560 million members. This year, Instagram announced at IGTV, the uploaded video will be in a longer format. One of the most popular video formats is videos that build personal and branding products, such as "selfie-style" where you talk in front of the camera and share ideas with the audience.

What if you want to start making a video with a topic that you like but feel uncomfortable while in front of the camera? What if you are an introvert, someone who is more comfortable talking to a friend or prefers to read and write?

That's what Sean McCabe said in his latest video that he shared on YouTube. McCabe is the founder of Seanwes, an online community of creative professionals and creators of the best sales programs where he teaches topics such as handwriting, copywriting and how to set creative service prices as a freelance. McCabe is a prolific content creator and recently he published a book on how to build successful shows, popular podcasts, YouTube channels and Instagram channels that are widely followed.

McCabe is also an introvert who has managed to overcome his unwillingness to put himself in front of the camera. Here are 5 tips that He shared for making videos if you are an introvert like him.

1. Schedule
An introvert is a person who is reluctant to put himself in front of a camera, McCabe suggests making a clear schedule on the calendar when going to make a video.

McCabe had made several phone calls in the morning that he had scheduled. After that, McCabe made several videos and streamed them. When streaming, McCabe sat on a chair and he didn't feel like he was making a streaming video, because he was getting used to it. When McCabe saw the calendar he felt he had to make a schedule to record several videos, because it wasn't good if he waited until he felt like making a video. Because as an Introvert it will not feel like feeling outside the element.

2. Speak to one person.
Usually an Introvert cannot speak in a crowd at one time, talk to one person because he will feel more comfortable.

When speaking in front of the camera, an Introvert will feel like he is talking in a room full of people. But that is not the right way if you are an introvert. McCabe once said that the most common mistake he saw was that people say 'Hi friends' or 'Hi everyone' for an Introvert it is a bad thing because it can give a lot of pressure. When an Introvert is streaming and someone is talking like that, they think it's very scary.

3. Prepare yourself
Because making videos requires preparation and it's hard to put yourself in front of the camera. According to McCabe, if you produce a video you should schedule it, because you will have time to prepare it like time to sleep, time to rest and time to be alone.

An Introvert has a different preparation from an extrovert. Most extroverts prepare themselves by filling their free time to produce videos, but an introvert will choose to prepare himself by moving away from the camera and focusing on activities that give them energy, by reading or having a conversation with a friend.

4. Make a list
After listening to, watching podcasts and videos over the past few years, McCabe now knows how much time and effort he is making to prepare the content. If you are an introvert like him, he suggests setting up a list of previous topics so you can get ready.

McCabe knew that he needed to record a video today, not just come and stand in front of the camera, but had to find out what to say. "I have a list ... I just have to say what is on the list, for example 'Making a video about how an Introvert makes a video'" he said.

Another exercise done by McCabe when producing podcasts and videos that were not mentioned in this episode is to write important points that you will discuss in the videos that you make. If you want to script the whole thing and read it verbatim, then it gives you confidence when you deliver it, it doesn't matter.

5. Focus on the person you are helping
For all the tips and techniques, McCabe said for an Introvert who tried to fight their personal barriers to produce a video, he suggested one of the most important was to use "why".

"Yes, it takes preparation to make videos needs to be prepared to talk to people as Introverts, so you have to find reasons to do it, reasons for appearing and reasons for sharing your message"

McCabe thought how someone benefited from the video he made, anyone who was introverted like him. And is there an introvert who gets something from the video he made and realized it. Now that he can overcome that feeling, he can appear and make a video that will help you overcome those obstacles. That makes it a spirit.
